In 2014, Insight EU Monitoring started as an email-only service for those who needed first-hand sources to follow regulatory debates and verify decisions and documents debated and issued by the European Union and the EU institutions, as well as by some global institutions.
In the beginning, we were focusing on issues such as energy, climate, and environment, adding the digital agenda later on, as well as Euro and finance, trade and commerce, and foreign and security policy.
In April 2021, we decided to extend our services to an online “platform of platforms” that is now reaching more than 10,000 users monthly, in more than 120 countries.
We are gathering original documents and policy positions on four major policy fields: business, digitization, security, and sustainability. Thus, we have created a relevant source of information for those users following political debates, trying to verify facts and figures, to map decision-makers and stakeholders involved, and to position themselves in the public discourse.
Although we are a commercial project, we also fulfill a public purpose:
Insight EU wants to improve multi-level and cross-institutional transparency of European and international regulatory policy debates.
