MEPs will focus on key areas from the French Presidency’s work programme, including the strategic compass and the promotion of joint operations. They will look into the ability of the EU to defend itself in new areas of conflict – on the high seas, in cyberspace and in outer space.
They also want to debate the development of EU defence capabilities and the promotion of innovation, in particular through the creation of an Innovation Defence Hub within the European Defence Agency, as well as deepening partnerships like the transatlantic link.
