Medicinal products and price transparency: MEPs, experts discuss current issues

On Wednesday 25 January, the workshop “Transparency of pricing and reimbursement of medicinal products” will bring together guest experts and MEPs for a topical discussion.

Where: European Parliament in Brussels, Spinelli building, room 3G3
Organised by the European Parliament’s Committee on Petitions, the workshop will feature interventions by guests speakers, followed by a Q&A session with MEPs. The guest speakers and their topics are:
- Kaisa IMMONEN, Director of Policy, European Patients’ Forum (EPF), on: “Transparency of the EU pharmaceutical system” (TBC)
- Thomas ALLVIN, Executive Director Strategy and Healthcare Systems, European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA), on: “How and when can increased transparency improve access to innovative medicines”
- Dr Sabine VOGLER, Head of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Pharmaceutical Pricing and Reimbursement Policies, at the Austrian National Public Health Institute (GOG), Co-founder of the Pharmaceutical Pricing and Reimbursement Information (PPRI) initiative, on: “Can transparency improve access to medicines? State-of-play of publication of medicine prices and other market information in European countries”
